This package includes the ATP bolt-on turbo kit featuring the ATP GT2871R turbo as well as a Stratified Full Custom tuneThe included tune is a single map tune for the fuel of your choice (91, 93, OR E85 blend), adding a second fuel map costs an additional $50.  
 
 
 
Big Turbo Prerequisites: 
 
1. The OEM 2 port EBCS cannot handle the needs of a bigger turbo. To properly control boost you will need a Stratified Three Port EBCV. We do not recommend running any mechanical boost controllers such as a manual boost controller. 
 
2. An upgraded BPV is neccessary to run a bigger turbo. The OEM BPV will crack open when surpassing 21 psi of boost pressure causing a loss in airflow and performance. This Article highlights the shortcomings of the OEM BPV. Contact Us if you'd like to include a BPV in your turbo order. 
 
3. A 3" or larger intake. OEM-sized intakes work well for the OEM MazdaSpeed turbocharger, however, they are inadequite for bigger turbos. Recommended is an intake with at least a 3" ID (Contact Us if you'd like to include an intake in your turbo order).
 
4. A 3 Bar MAP sensor. The OEM MAP sensor is only accurate to around 21 psi of boost. When tuning a big turbo we will surpase this figure so the 3 bar map sensor becomes necessary. BitWise makes a plug and play harness which makes this a very easy swap.
 
5. With great power comes great responsibility, protect your motor with a Stratified Guardian Angel. Although this is not neccessary to run a big turbo it is very wise to protect your investmet with the Stratified Guardian Angel. Over the years the GA has saved countless motors from dangerous overboost conditions. 
 
 
ATP Turbo Information:
 
This package includes an internally wastegated turbo with ATP's proprietary exhaust housing designed as a direct-fit OEM replacement for your MazdaSpeed DISI motor (tuning and other supporting mods needed, READ THIS). The base turbo included in this package is the Garrett GT2871R which is good for up to 400WHP on the MazdaSpeed DISI motor. 
 
The ATP kits are the best bolt-on turbo kits currently available for the MazdaSpeed platform and come with every single nut, bolt, and washer needed for install on your MazdaSpeed Vehicle.
 
Here are some of highlights of the ATP Turbo Kits:
 
- Direct bolt-on to stock location. 
- Internally Wastegated.
- Fits any stock turbo flanged downpipe. 
- Fits any stock placement charge pipe kit.
- New steel braided oil feed and coolant lines provided
- Fits stock oil drain tube
 
Please Note: All GT series turbos (GT2871R, GT3071R, GT3076R) will require a 4" turbo inlet pipe (TIP) or reducer to fit your intake system. The GTX2867R has a 3" turbo inlet so it will require a 3" turbo inlet pipe (TIP) or reducer to fit your intake. The ATP Turbo Kits DO NOT come with a TIP or Intake.

The Turbos:
 
The turbo choice is up to your preferences and goals. Simply select the correct turbo from the list below. 
 
1. GT2871R: This turbo is good for up to 400WHP on the MazdaSpeed DISI motor and will offer response that is close to OEM with a much better top end. This is a responsive turbo which will produce a very broad (flat) torque curve.
 
2. GTX2867: Very similar to the GT2871 the Garrett GTX2867 turbos take advantage of Garrett's latest turbo technologies. Featuring an 10-blade compressor wheel and ball bearing center cartridge these turbos provide quicker spool, lower BATs, higher boost, and more fun! Behaviour of the GTX turbo is similar to that of the GT turbo, however, the GTX turbos are more efficient across the board. The GTX2867 offers response that is better than the GT2871 while flowing around the same amount of air.
 
3. GTX2967R / GTX2971R / GTX2976R: Very similar to the GTX2867 but with more top end and a smidge more lag. The GTX2971 and GTX2976 turbos feature a bigger 11-blade billet compressor wheel and slightly bigger turbine wheel. From these three turbos we recommend the GTX2971 as we feel the compressor/turbine are a very good match for each other. With the GTX2971R you can expect spool to be 2-400 RPM later than the GTX2867 with power potential of about 465WHP.
 
3. GT3071R: This turbo is the next step up from the GT2871R, it is the best spooling turbo for surpasing the 400 WHP mark. When surpassing 400WHP it is recommended to build the block. Supporting mods for passing 400WHP include, depending on fuel quality, additional fueling (WMI, 5th or 6th port injection) E85 or WMI. Also, an upgraded intercooler is recommended due to increased flow and better cooling. Spool and response of this turbo will be slower than the OEM K04 turbo.
 
4. GT3076R: The 'standard' turbocharger for making up to 500WHP. This turbo will spool a couple of hundred RPM later than the GT3071 and will produce more power right to redline. To extract the full potential of this turbo it is recommended that you have an upgraded intercooler (increased flow and better cooling), exhuast, as well as additional fueling (WMI, 5th or 6th port injection). E85 or WMI is often needed to get above 350-375whp.
 
5. GTX3076R / GTX3071R: Upgrade either the GT3071R or GT3076R to the Garrett GTX30xx turbo. These turbos take advantage of Garrett's latest turbo technologies. Featuring an 11-blade compressor wheel and ball bearing center cartridge these turbos provide quicker spool, lower BATs, higher boost, and more fun! Behaviour of the GTX turbo is similar to that of the GT turbo, however, the GTX turbos are more efficient across the board.
