2009-2013 Volkswagen Mk.6 GTI DSG Support
This flash tune requires that you either HAVE or BUY an RTD, MPVI2 or MPVI3 device to flash the tune to the vehicle. DSG flashing is not supported on the COBB Accessport for the Mk6 GTI.

Already have HPTuners Flashing Device:
If you already have the device or are borrowing it locally, you will need to purchase 4 flash credits along with the tune unless your device has 4 available credits stored on it or have already used the same device to flash the DSG with it before. If you need the credits, they are in the options above.
Purchasing RTD Device:
If you purchase the RTD device we will send you tracking once it has shipped. Once you have it you will be able to get the required files using the RTD device. You will send this info back to the email with the instructions and your tune will be built and sent to you via email. This option includes the 4 flash credits.
Stratified DSG Flash:
If you have an existing Stratified flashtune we will upgrade your tune to the higher torque setting for free!
Our Stratified DSG Flash for the MK6 GTI is the result of countless hours of development and seat time. It is designed to achieve the following objectives:
- The driveability of the tune in (D) Drive mode must be seamless as a lot of drivers spend time in this mode. We found the OEM calibration to not be well synchronized and lethargic to respond to driver input. Our calibration allows the transmission to respond to driver input and match engine torque rather than force the driver to adapt to its shifting patterns. Fuel economy is not negatively impacted by the calibration.
- The shifting is designed to be smooth and crisp in all modes when both up and downshifting not to disrupt the chassis or driver.
- The clamping force is increased to prevent slippage under higher power applications. This is needed for stage2, ethanol tunes, and upgraded turbochargers.
- The Sport and Manual calibrations are also altered to best match engine torque output and maximize acceleration.
DSG Calibration Options:
OEM: oem shift points but with higher clamping force and quicker shifts than OEM
Sport: slightly more aggressive shift points with higher clamping force and quicker shifts than OEM
Performance: shift points targeting the power band with higher clamping force and quicker shifts than OEM
RTD Features:
The RTD is the device used to flash your DSG. This device has the capability to be used on multiple vehicles. This device will allow you to not only flash the TCU but has the ability to flash the ECU as well. The RTD also has the capability to do the following:
- Data logging capabilities for TCU and ECU, can record data from control units for data analysis
- Platform shareable device, can share the device between multiple vehicle models to tune
- Wide variety of vehicle support from HP Tuners
- Map switchable, i.e., can have multiple maps for TCU and ECU that you can flash between.
- Error-clearing capabilities, i.e., can remove error codes that are read by the device
