The purpose of a turbo blanket is 2-fold. One is to keep the engine bay and surrounding components cool. The second (often overlooked) is that keeping thermal energy within the turbocharger improves spool response. This turbo blanket achieves both helping improve the performance of your GRC/GRY while keeping it cooler!
